Lonnie Rust

Lonnie Rust of Keota was born July 19, 1949, in Kinta to Quincy Lonzo and Betty Jean (Evans) Rust and passed away Sept. 4, 2016, in Fort Smith, Ark., at the age of 67.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Rust of the home; three daughters, Audrey Maddux and husband Edward of Corsicana, Texas, Hollie Husband and husband Donnie of Elk City, Amelia Hurst and husband Nathan of Keota; one son, Lonzo Gene Rust, Jr. and wife MaCherie of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Pat Nelson and husband Bill of Keota, Ellen O’Dell of Grove, Cora Stamps and husband Steve of Edmond; three brothers, Jim Rust and wife Nipper of Van Buren, Ark., Billy Rust and wife Jamie of Spiro, Tracy Rust and wife Shanna of Stigler; grandchildren, Victoria Mears, Emily Hernandez, Savannah Mears, Noah Ligon, Aaron Ligon, Caleb Ligon, Joshua Ligon, Dana Lynn Husband, Hadlie Husband and Hope Hurst; great-grandchildren, Daxter Partain, Autumn Partain and Carolynn June Hernandez; three brothers-in-law, James T. Owens and wife Shirley, Earl C. Owens and wife Opal, Roger D. Owens and wife Suzie.
Lonnie was a lay preacher and served many years at Keota First Baptist Church as a deacon.
He also enjoyed gardening and going to antique car shows.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Quincy Lonzo and Betty Jean Rust; one niece, Verla Spencer; and two nephews, Brian Owens and Sgt. Major Vincent Lee Carson Owens.
Services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 8 at Keota First Baptist Church with Bro. Tommie Parker and Bro. Mike Newberry officiating.  
Burial will follow at Old Cache Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Harold Zane DeLaughter, Enoch Good, Quincy Ayala, Rocky Rust, Collin Brand and Doug Brand. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Storment.
