Linda Sue Bury (Lewis) was born in Stigler on Jan. 24, 1941, to Sherman Lee and Leura Lee (McClain) Lewis. She passed away in Jenks on Aug. 27, 2020 at the age of 79.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheri Dawn Kempthorne of Broken Arrow; her grandson, Dylan James Edward Kempthorne of Broken Arrow; her siblings, Norma Jo Gabbard of Fort Gibson, Alice Cross of Stigler, George Folsom of Pocola, and Walter Folsom of Wister; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Walter Bury; her parents, Sherman Lee and Leura Lee Lewis; and her brother, DeWayne Lewis.

Linda lived in Tulsa until 2010 when she moved in with her daughter and grandson in Broken Arrow. In August of 2019, she moved into Grave Living Center in Jenks because of health issues. She loved antiquing and looking for great bargains at garage sales. When her grandson was a baby, taking care of him was her great joy. She worked as a certified nurse assistant until her retirement, which allowed her to draw on her strong feelings of compassion and empathy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. at Mallory Chapel in Stigler with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating.
