Lillian ‘Bea’ Paul

Lillian “Bea” Paul, 84 of McCurtain, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Haskell County Nursing Center in Stigler. She was born Dec. 15, 1932, in Red Oak to Nathaniel and Mandy (Montgomery) Watts.
She grew up at Red Oak, where she received her education. She married Lear “Buzzy” Paul on Nov. 15, 1954, in Poteau and they made their home north of McCurtain where they raised their family. Bea began a career with the Stigler Nursing Home and worked as a nurse’s aid for many years. She was also a provider for home health for several years. Bea loved reading, and enjoyed fishing for crappie. She loved her dog, Pete and most of all she loved her family. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Bea is survived by her husband, Lear “Buzzy’ Paul of the home; her son, Michael Paul and wife Sheila of McCurtain; her daughter, Barbara Thomas and Mike Susmilch of Keota; three grandchildren, Lear Don Paul and wife Deanna of Poteau, Kandy Grogan and husband Brad of Red Oak, and LaDonna Cash and husband Brandon of Sherman,Texas; eight greatgrandchildren, Carl, Ashley, Kendra, Shay, Chase, Kaeli, Hunter and Tobi; two great-great grandchildren, Kam and Tucker; numerous nieces and nephews.
Bea is preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel and Mandy Watts; four siblings, Bernice, Ivan, J.D. and Dorothy Jean.
Services were held Feb. 21 at McCurtain First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating. Burial followed at Miners Cemetery at McCurtain under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
Pallbearers were Stacy Lovell, Tracy Lovell, Weston Lovell, Mark Zubula, Carl Kyker and Casey Butcher.
