Letty Cooper
Letty Nerea (Lytle) Cooper of Stigler, Okla. was born in Kansas City, Mo. to Leroy and Tenie (Wilson) Lytle on Jan. 9, 1930. She passed away June 23, 2021, in Stigler, Okla. at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 14 days.
She is survived by one daughter, Letty N. Cooper of Stigler, Okla.; two sons, Gene Leroy Cooper of Stigler, Okla. and Ben Cooper and wife, Nancy, of Stigler, Okla.; five grandchildren, Amanda Terrell and husband, Jerrod, of Stigler, Okla., Brandon Cooper and wife, Heather, of Jones, Okla., Christy Stanfield and husband, Patrick, of Quinton, Okla., Katie Simpson and husband, Matt, of Hoyt, Okla. and Katie Terreros and husband, Danny, of Prairie Village, Kan.; great-grandkids, Drew, Tryston and Madelyn Stanfield; Ruby, Josie and Duke Cooper; Emma and Chaseton Simpson; Maverick and Mila Mooney; Jackson, Hudson and Emerson Terreros; and Jaxon and Amilya Terrell.
Letty was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cooper, and her parents, Leroy and Tenie Nerea Lytle.
Letty was a graduate of Stigler High School Class of 1947. She and Paul graduated college in 1950. She taught school in Derby, Kan. in the mid-1960s and Stigler Public Schools from 1966 to 1986.
She was the organist and played the piano at the Mountain Home Baptist Church and Whitefield Baptist Church. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Family visitation will be at Mallory Chapel in Stigler on Thursday, July 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard Francis and Bill Self officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Cooper, Matt Simpson, Jarred Terrell, Patrick Stanfield, Bill Self and Danny Terreros.
Honorary pallbearers will be men of Antioch Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Letty’s memory to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, PO Box 32141, New York, NY 10087-2141.
