Lavern Johnson

Laverne (Mizell) Johnson was born in Pauls Valley, on Oct. 10, 1932, to Willie and Elva (Coppick) Mizell. She passed away in Stigler, on June 13, 2020, at the age of 87.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Johnson and husband, Don, of Stigler, her sons, Dell Frazier and wife, Linda, of Sapulpa, Dennis Frazier and special friend, Tamra Young, of Stigler, Lewis Daniels and wife, Sandy, of Stigler; her sister, Mary Lou Turner of Euless, Texas; her brother, Billy Mizell of Stigler; her grandchildren, Greg Johnson, Jamy Flynn, Kristy Manley, Elizabeth Williamson, Kendra Frazier, Matthew Frazier, Serena Billy, Logan Billy, Kehala Hedges, Allison Hedges, Amy Waller, Justin Walters, Kevin Jackson, Trey Hedges, Jacob Payne, Danielle Frazier, Noah Frazier and Jimmy Daniels; her great-grandchildren, Daytona Adams, Claira Manley, Braxton Frazier, Kennadi Frazier, Preston Williamson, Payton Williamson, Frankie Williamson, Asher Walters, Aiden Walters, Brett Williams, Brayden Williams and Gentry Johnson, and her great-great-granddaughter, Briar Williams.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Elva Mizell; her husband, Bill Johnson and her step-son, Charles Walters.

Viewing was held at Mallory Chapel in Stigler on Monday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Funeral services were held at Mallory Chapel in Stigler on Wednesday, June 17 at 10 a.m. with Bro. Tommie Parker officiating. Interment  followed at Stigler City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers were Matthew Frazier, Logan Billy, Justin Walters, Greg Johnson, Trey Hedges and Jacob Payne.

Honorary pallbearers were Daytona Adams, Jimmy Daniels, Kevin Jackson, Brian Manley, Mike Flynn and Noah Frazier.
