Lavada Romine

Lavada Marie (Tillery) Shamblin Romine was born on July 13, 1953 in Briartown, Oklahoma to T.D. and Addie Mae (Goff) Tillery. She passed from this life November 14, 2021 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 68.

Lavada met and married the father of her children in 1968. That marriage dissolved in 2001. Out of that marriage, four children were born.

Lavada worked at Valmac Food Processing and also as a provider caring for the elderly to provide for her family.

Lavada grew up poor, but she knew how to make the best of any situation.  Growing up in a family of eight children, there was much love and laughter, along with hard work.  She loved cooking, fishing and singing gospel music. On any given day you would find her on a pond bank fishing or sitting on the front porch of one of her many elderly friends enjoying the fellowship.  She took great pride in her grandchildren and you could see her big, beautiful brown eyes light up and her smile double in size when they came to visit.

Lavada leaves behind three children, Leslie Seaman and husband, Bruce, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Anthony Shamblin and wife, Emily, of Porum, Oklahoma; and Cheryl Pierce and husband, Ronnie, of McAlester, Oklahoma; three sisters, Becky Phillips and husband, Mike, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Pam Holt and husband, Ken, of Vian, Oklahoma; and Mary Mendenhall of Porum, Oklahoma; one brother, Joe Tillery of Muskogee, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Cadesha Walden, Michael Jones, Cody Pierce, Sierra Pierce, Ryan Shamblin, Ricky Shamblin, Kylie Shamblin, and Jennie Pierce; and six great grandchildren.

Lavada was preceded in death by her parents, T.D. and Addie Mae Tillery; two brothers, Robert Tillery and Tommy Tillery; one sister, Agnes Quinton; and one son, Ricky Wayne Shamblin.
