Kennith D. Watts

Kennith D. Watts, 51, of McCurtain, passed away in Fort Smith, Ark., Monday, July 23, 2018. He was born Nov. 12, 1966, in Poteau, to Ivan and Lavena (Lovell) Watts. He grew up in McCurtain and graduated from McCurtain High School.

Kennith was affectionately known as Ed by his family. He loved basketball, baseball, hunting, fishing and working in the oil field. His passion was working at the McCurtain Fire Department for the last 25 years. 

Ed loved his family and church family. He was a member of McCurtain Assembly of God Church. He will sure be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Ed is survived by his mother, Lavena Watts of McCurtain; his son, Mark Watts and wife, Kylah, of Checotah; two daughters, Katrina Bond and husband, Trystan, of Whitefield, Deidra Watts and Maryanne Meadows of New Port, Mich.; six grandchildren, Madison Bash, Londan Daniels, Sydney Bash, Hunter Apple, Kasin Apple, Avery Apple; five step-grandchildren; three brothers, Timmy Watts and wife, Nancy, of McCurtain, Jimmy Watts and wife, Debra, of Keota, Harold Watts and wife, Cheryl, of McCurtain; and a sister, Kris and Blake English of Wagoner.

Ed was preceded in death by his dad, Ivan Watts; his paternal grandparents, Nathan and Mandy Watts; his maternal  grandparents, Loyd and Eva Lovell; three grandchildren; and two nephews, Seth Bradley Watts and Tyler Stroud.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2018, at the McCurtain Assembly of God Church with Pastor Roger Myers officiating. Pallbearers included the McCurtain Fire & Rescue Department. Honorary pallbearers included Nathan Watts, Justin Watts, Prestan Watts, Rodney Watts, Tyson Stroud, Dawson Watts and Matt Watts.    

Burial followed in Milton Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
