John Elliott

John Darvin Elliott, 75, of Keota, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, in the V.A. Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born March 3, 1945, in Los Angeles, Calif. to John Darvin Sr. and Katherine Lucille (Branam) Elliott.

John had served in the United States Air Force.

He met the love of his life and he and Ms. Dona Cornforth Renken were married on Dec. 3, 1977 in Ponca City.

John worked in maintenance for Tyson Foods. He loved riding motorcycles and he was an animal lover who had many dogs and cats. He loved his family and enjoyed living in Star being around all the family. He was a member of Star Baptist Church.

John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dona Elliott, of the home; their two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Mary Renken of Ponca City and Aaron and Bigya Renken of Newalla, Okla.; two grandchildren, Brett Renken of Houston, Texas and Taylor Sugg and Austin of Paris, Texas; three great-grandchildren; Lane, Coleman and Hartley Sugg; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Mike Boucher of Rugsby, North Dakota; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kim, of Guam.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Darvin Elliott Sr.

Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, in Star Cemetery with Pastor Rick McClaskey officiating. Pallbearers include Jason Smith, Eric Renken, Aaron Renken, Kenny Adams, Austin Sugg, Doug Foster.

Honorary pallbearers include Terry Garland, Creed Smith, Jeff Adams and Brett Renken.

Burial followed immediately under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.

In luie of flowers, the family suggest memorials to Star Baptist Church.
