Jo Davis

Jo Evelyn Davis, 72, of Lequire, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born April 12, 1945, in Lequire to R.C. and Helen (Sloan) Slater.
Jo grew up in Lequire, where she went to school until graduating from Kinta High School. She married Bill Davis March 29, 1961, and they made their home in Lequire. She had a career with U.S.P.S. for many years until her retirement. She loved knitting, sewing and was an avid stamp collector. She was a member of Lequire Baptist Church.
Jo is survived by her son, Ronnie Davis and wife, Sandy, of Lequire; two grandchildren, Misty Carter and husband, Melvin, of Porum, Randall Talley of Sallisaw; seven great-grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Michael Smith, Matthew Rider, Erin Austin, Sydne, Talley, Holly Talley and R.J. Talley; four great-great-grandchildren, Connally, Kashton, Haylee and Maycee; nieces and nephews, Chet, Samantha, Jamie, Megan, Matt, Ella and Everleigh.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, R.C. and Helen Slater; her husband, Bill Davis; a sister and brother-in-law, Priscilla and Joe Krisher.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with Mr. Joe Daniels officiating. Pallbearers included Randy Sloan, Tandy Sloan, Skip Daniels, Mike Daniels, Brandon Stubblefield and Daniel Rivera.
Burial followed at Sans Bois Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
