Jimmy McKinney

Jimmy Dale McKinney, 64, of Stigler, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, in Heart of Hospice, Fort Smith, Ark. Jimmy was born Dec. 3, 1956, in Muskogee, Okla. to Jodie Calvin “JC” and Almus “Shug” (Neal) McKinney.

Jimmy met a beautiful lady that stole his heart, Nancy Stevens, and they were married on Aug. 23, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren he adored. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was always there to help those who needed it. Jimmy enjoyed going with the Stevens Singing group and helping Jerry get things set-up. Nancy sung with her brother and sister-in-law and Jimmy was glad to help out and loved listening to his wife sing. Jimmy was very faithful to his church and church family. He was a member of Quinton’s Victory Worship Church.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Nancy McKinney, of the home; his son, Jodie McKinney and Charidy Hayes of Enterprise; three stepdaughters and spouses, Dawn and James Roberts of Wichita, Kan., Shianna Ward and Jacob Shimanek of Hennessey, Okla., and Shayla and Shane McKinzie of Webb City, Mo.; grandchildren, Melissa Shaffer, Garrett McKinney, Jaxson Parkinson, Kenadee Ward, Samuel Ward, Tomas Ward, Emma and Hallie McKinzie, Evan McKinzie, Hope McKinzie, and Lashelle and James Roberts; a sister and brother-in-law, Roxanna and Gary Powell of Enterprise; Aunt June Tinsley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie “JC” and Almus “Shug” McKinney; and a brother, Larry McKinney.

A funeral service was at 1 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2021, in Victory Worship Church in Quinton with the Rev. Rick Kerley officiating. Eulogists were Jerry Stevens and Bill Fitzer. Pallbearers included Jodie McKinney, Steve Powell, Dusty Powell, Wes Stevens, Jesse Purdom, Steve Kerns and Gary Powell.

Burial followed in Brooken Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
