Jimmy Eakle

Jimmy Hayes Eakle was born on May 20, 1946, in West Liberty, Okla. to Glendon and Betty (King) Eakle. He passed away in McAlester, Okla. on Feb. 3, 2021 at the age of 74.

He is survived by his wife, Dean, of the home; his stepdaughters, Laura Gee and husband, Jimmy, of Quinton, Okla. and children, Jimmy and Lindsay, and Gabriel Treesh of Boynton, Okla. and children, Daeneira, Elleney, Gatlan, and Georgia; his grandchildren, Jordan Huggins of Ada, Okla., Jamie Sullins and husband, Jayce, of Spiro, Okla., Dennis Eakle and wife, Jessa, of Quinton, Okla., Peyton Huggins of Ada, Okla. and Jessica Rue of Ada, Okla.; two brothers, Roger Eakle and wife, Judy, of Beaver Mountain, Okla. and Michael Eakle and wife, Barbara, of Brooken, Okla.; his great-grandchildren, Jaycie Sullins, Kyler Eakle and Rowan Eakle; his daughter-in-law, Melanie Eakle of Quinton, Okla.; his son-in-law, Stacey Rue of Ada, Okla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Jimmy was preceded by his parents, Glendon and Betty Eakle; his first wife of 55 years and mother of his children, Phyllis (Mills) Eakle; his son, Jimmy Dion Eakle; his daughter, Andrea Rue; and his stepfather, Jim Cravens.

Jimmy was a longtime member and deacon of West Liberty Church.

Viewing was held at Mallory Chapel in Stigler from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5; and at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6; with family visitation from 10 a.m. to noon.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at West Liberty Church with the Rev. Tom Chappelle and the Rev. Josh Cates officiating. Interment followed at West Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers were Stan Strain, Jimmy Gee, Josh Cates, Dennis Eakle, Peyton Huggins and Jordan Huggins.

Honorary pallbearers were David Ballard, Kenneth King, Doyle Wagdon, Coy Few, Roy Roberts, Arlanda Eakle, Donnie Few, Dennis Wright and Dennis Satterfield.
