Jessie DeShazo

Jessie Faye (Lewis) DeShazo was born on Aug. 6, 1955, in Keota to Burl Jahue and Delilah Lavaughn (Christenberry) Lewis. She passed away in Fort Smith, Ark. on April 18, 2019, at the age of 63.

She is survived by her husband, Tillis DeShazo, of the home; granddaughters, Sarah Smith of Keota and Audrey DeShazo of Keota; daughter-in-law, Honey DeShazo of Keota; three brothers, Tommie Lewis and wife, Betty, of Sallisaw, Jimmie Lewis and wife, Trish, of Spiro and Teddie Lewis and wife, Ida, of Alma and numerous nephews and nieces.

Jessie was preceded in death by one son, Douglas DeWayne DeShazo; one brother, Burley L. Lewis and her parents, Burl and Delilah Lewis.

Jessie adored her grandbabies beyond all imagination. She loved being outdoors and spending time on the farm.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Star Baptist Church in Keota with the Rev. Tommy Wylie, Rick McClaskey and Bro. Tommie Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Cowlington Cemetery in Cowlington under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.

Viewing was at Mallory Chapel in Keota from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 1 to 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, April 22 and 23, 2019, with family visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Pallbearers are Brennan Lewis, Dillon Lewis, Gary Paul Hill, Wendell McClary, David Byrd and Brandon Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Adams and Danny Middleton.
