Jesse Spradlin

Jesse Don Spradlin was born in Porum on July 12, 1936, to Jess and Zadie (Hamilton) Spradlin. He passed away in West Fork, Ark., on March 29, 2019, at the age of 82.
He is survived by one son, Kelsey Spradlin and wife, Charlene; three daughters, Cheryl Spradlin Kimble and husband, Dan, Brenda Spradlin Barricklow and husband, Roger, and Janet Spradlin Cole and husband, Lee; grandchildren, Becky Spradlin Bennett and husband, Aaron, Sherry Baker and husband, Jeff, Chelsie Spradlin, Tony Kimble and wife, Amanda, Jeff Kimble and wife, Wendy, Tim Kimble and wife, Jessica, Jeremy Rider and Trina Rider; one very special brother-in-law, Doug Driskill; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; special friend, Randy Overton; main caregiver, Lee Cole and a host of friends and family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Zadie Spradlin; his wife, Eva Nell Driskill Spradlin; his grandson, Gregory Allen Lowe and his brothers, Bill Spradlin and Gene Spradlin.
He was a mechanic at his dad’s service station. He drove a propane truck and a dump truck and helped work on Eufaula Dam. He had assorted jobs until he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1967. He loved that job most of all. He loved to help people and was always bringing someone home. He retired in 1983 after a major vehicle accident.
Don enjoyed gardening and loved to go out on the boat. He loved to fish. He loved to feed and watch deer and play with his dogs. Don never met a stranger and everyone loved him. He always had a story for everyone.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Fields Cemetery in Porum with the Rev. Dan Chapman and the Rev. Doyle Payne officiating. Burial is under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
Viewing was at Mallory-Martin Chapel in Porum from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.
