Jean Leird

Jean Leird, 84 of Stigler passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at EASTAR Health System. She was born June 13, 1932, in Minco to Doc and Pearlie (Long) Waldron.
Jean is survived by three daughters, Barbara Highfill and husband Jerry of Highland, Calif., Vicki Perryman and husband Rob of Stigler, Becky Cantrell and husband Virgil of Stigler; her son, John D. Leird Jr. and wife Holly of Parker, Ariz.; her 10 grandchildren, Justin Highfill, Gretchen Brown, Aaron Highfill, Morgan Benham, Blair Christenberry, Whitley Benham, Brandon Cantrell, Brianna Highfill, Donovan Hoffman, Chelsea Leird; her 13 great-grandchildren, Shea, Kyra, Micah, Kade, Drake, Mason, Mabri, Cooper, Hudson, Tyler, Ethan, Kaleb, Brinlynn; one sister-in-law, Iva Leird of Whitefield; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Pearlie Waldron; her husband, John D. Leird; her granddaughter, Mandy Cantrell; her five brothers, Lee Waldron, Roy Waldron, Arthur “Art” Waldron, Doyle “Blackie” Waldron, Raymond “Red” Waldron; her five sisters, May Davis, Ethel Gresham, Julie Dodson, Marie Kirley, Gladys Woodring.
Services were held Nov. 5 at First Baptist Church of Stigler. Dr. Jerry Highfill and Pastor Daniel Milligan officiated and Virgil Cantrell delivered the Eulogy. Burial followed at Whitefield Cemetery under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
Pallbearers were Kent Highfill, Brandon Christenberry, Justin Highfill, Aaron Highfill, Brandon Cantrell and Clark Bernal.
