Jayne Cox

Jayne Cason Cox of Stigler was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Keota to Claude and Marjorie (Maus) Cason and passed away Feb. 13, 2017, in Stigler at the age of 90.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Cox and wife, Janie of Stigler, and Bruce Cox and wife, Kathie of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Wanda Beach of Bixby, and Judy Towry Smith and husband, Al of Tulsa; grandchildren, Doug McDaniel and wife, Jaime of Fayetteville, Ark., Pamela Olson and husband, Ahmed Dogan of Tulsa; Valerie Monticue and husband Galen of San Jose, Calif.; six great.-grandchildren, Dylan Byler and Jake, Jack, Mason, Luke and Levi McDaniel.
Jayne was preceded in death by her husband, William E “Bill” Cox, Jr.; one sister, Marjorie Carter; and her parents.
Jayne was active in Stigler Methodist Church for many years. In addition to serving on the administrative board as chairman, she was a long-time teacher of adult Sunday school classes. Jayne was a life-long artist, excelling in many mediums. She learned to knit from Leah Garland and knitted hundreds of sweaters and mittens for mission programs. She also created many beautiful afghans for family and friends. She loved her family very much and was especially excited when she was blessed with a posse of great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at First United Methodist Church of Stigler with Pastor Vernon Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Stigler City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler.
Pallbearers will be Pat Carter, Mike Carter, Jeff Beach, Ty Towry, Jamie Beach, Doug McDaniel and Ahmed Dogan.
