Jay Miller

Jay A. Miller, age 77, passed from this life on Friday, May 4, 2018. Jay was born on March 15, 1941, to Alvin J. and Effie Mae (Graham) Miller in Russellville. Jay graduated from Quinton High School with the class of 1960. He married Erma Williams on April 15, 1961. To this union one daughter was born, Tina Miller Needham. Jay retired from Enogex in 1999 after 35 years in the gas field. Jay loved his church, family, beagles and fishing.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Claude Miller; his sister, Doris (Miller) Carey and a nephew, Jerry Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Erma, of the home; his daughter and spouse, Tina and Kelly Needham; two grandsons, Jason and wife, Tsianiania, of Eufaula, Justin Needham of Quinton; one-great-grandson, Berkley Needham; four great-granddaughters, Hannah Needham, Zadee Needham, Sarah and Reese Dunzy; and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the Jesus Name Church with the Rev. Donnie Taylor officiating.
Pallbearers were Dustin Bray, Yancy Peevy, J.R. Needham, Jim Wimberly, Nate Taylor and Carl Oxford. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Fowler, John Denny, Gaylon Denny, Timmy Needham, Tommy Bevans and Johnny Risenhoover.
Burial followed at the Quinton Cemetery under the direction of Hunn and Black Funeral Home.
