Janice Wann

Janice Fern Wann, 68, of Kinta, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at Haskell County Community Hospital in Stigler. She was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Lonoke, Ark. to Joshua and Flossie (Turner) Christy, Sr. She grew up in Tulsa and Quinton. She graduated high school in 1968 and earned her bachelors from Southeastern University.
Janice married Larry Wann on Jan. 24, 1971. They made their home in Kinta. She was a bookkeeper for Kinta Natural Gas and CWIS.net and operated Wann Stop until the flood in Kinta. She loved working with her roses, crossword puzzles, fishing and traveling across country. She was a member of Stigler church of Christ.
Janice is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry Wann of the home; her daughter, Christy Coplen and husband, C.B. III, of Stigler; her son, Bryan Wann of Fremont, Calif.; five grandchildren, Norman, Asher, Anna, Asa and Aleah; two sisters, Carol Johnson and husband, Junior, of Quinton and Patsy Carpenter and Dale Clark of Tulsa; a brother, Jack Christy and Marsha Cauley of Motta Sicilia, Italy; a sister-in-law, Margaret Christy of Glenpool and a brother-in-law, Jerry Wann of Kinta.
Janice was preceded in death by her father, Joshua Christy; her mother and stepdad, Flossie and George Carter and a brother, Joshua Bush Christy Jr.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Stigler church of Christ with Mr. Remington Afre officiating.
Pallbearers included James Allen, Phil Cantrell, Virgil Cantrell, Mark Lemons, Kevin Fenton and Blake Kleman.
Burial followed at Quinton Cemetery in Quinton under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
