James Scantlen

James “Hub” Scantlen of Stigler was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Stigler to Lucian Tanner and Ysleta Louise (Martin) Scantlen and passed away Nov. 30, 2018, in Muskogee at the age of 77.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Scantlen of Norman; five daughters, Robin Ann Fitzl and partner, Rose Lynch, of Okmulgee, Lisa Reimer and husband, Matt, of Tulsa, Hope Baker and husband, Michael, of Broken Arrow, Marty Scantlen and husband, Daniel, of Norman and Kelli Booher and husband, Ryan, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one son, James Garland Scantlen of Tulsa; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one aunt, Mary Burleson of Wagoner; one uncle, William Martin of Wagoner and cousins, Coby and Mike Scantlen, both of Stigler and Charles Scantlen.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Marie Carroll; one uncle, Preston (Bubby) Martin and his parents.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, at Mallory Chapel with Mr. Bill Self officiating. Burial followed at Stigler City Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory in Stigler.

Viewing was from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, with family visitation from 5 to 7 p.m.
