James Martin

Celebration of Life for James H. Martin, 82, of Sallisaw, will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020, at Agent Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.

He was born on July 9, 1937, in Sallisaw, to Mollie (Hines) Martin and Jim Martin and passed away on March 2, 2020, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was married to Linda (Morey) Martin on Sept. 26, 1991, in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. Martin was educated in Brushy Schools and graduated from Sallisaw High School. He graduated from Connors State College and received his bachelors degree from Northeastern State University. He owned and operated many businesses during his lifetime. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and mentor.

Survivors are, wife, Linda M. Martin of Sallisaw; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Scott Lowe of Sallisaw, Karla and Carl Hubbard of Roland and Vicky and Brian Forde of New Mexico; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael J. and Vicki Martin of Tulsa and Jay and Kristin Peerson of Sallisaw; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Mollie Martin and two sisters, Loyce Woodward and Florence Sparks.
