James Edwards

James Edwards of Stigler was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Stigler, to Harding and Rebecca (Garland) Edwards. He passed away on Aug. 11, 2018, in Stigler at the age of 75.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home; son, Glenn Edwards and girlfriend, Julie, of Morris; two daughters, Nicole Edwards and Ryan of Stigler and Manuella Edwards of Fort Smith, Ark.; grandchildren, Tamara Edwards, Xowie Edwards and Justin Edwards; brothers, Tommy Edwards and wife, Cheryl, of Stigler, Ricky Edwards and wife, Natalie, of Stigler and Ronnie Edwards and wife, Lola, of Spiro; and sister, Sharon Hood of Arizona.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Harding and Rebecca Edwards; one brother, Larry Edwards and one sister, Carolyn Crase.

James enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at Keota Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Tommie Parker and the Rev. Charles Carry officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Patillo, Brian Lewis, Bobby Owens, Ricky Blaylock, Larry Blaylock and Justin Wood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryon Carry, George Jack, Harold McAlvain, Ron Perry, David Christy, Jimmy Morris, David Bratton and Harold Powell.

Viewing was Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Services were entrusted to Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler.
