Iva Blackwood

Iva Lorene (Hall) Smith - Blackwood, age 94, of Porum died Oct. 4, 2018, at Gore Nursing Center. She was born Sept. 24, 1924, in Walnut Creek, Ark., to King Tyre Hall and Carrie (Taylor) Hall.

She is survived by three sons, Charles H. Smith and wife, Barbara, of Oceano, Calif., Doyle Blackwood and Debbie of Porum and Kenneth Blackwood and wife, Ann, of Arkansas; two daughters, Betty Lakeman and Linda “Sue” Osmon, both of Porum; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Special thank you to niece, Lillian Stewart, for all her TLC.

Iva was preceded in death by her parents, Tyre and Carrie Hall; two husbands, Charles Edward Smith (MIA/KIA WWII) and Earl Milton Blackwood (Army Staff Sgt. WWII); one infant son, Jerry Lee Blackwood; six brothers, Jim and Tyre Hall, Luke, Ted, Johnny and Zack Hyslop; four sisters, Gladys Phillips, Freeda Shamblin, Sadie Shamblin and Louise Ball and two sons-in-law, Ronnald Lakeman and Earnest “Ray” Osmon.

Viewing was held Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mallory Chapel in Porum.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at Fields Cemetery. Burial followed under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory in Stigler.

Pallbearers were John Shamblin, Jr., Lonnie Hyslop, Robbie Rock, Keith Hyslop, Larry Hall, Leon Phillips, Jimmy Mendenhall and Row Hyslop.
