Ilena P. Krausch

Ilena P. Krausch, 98, of Stigler passed away Friday June 14, 2019, at her home. She was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Stigler to Daniel B. and Eve (Sockey) Perry. She grew up in Stigler and attended school at Sequoyah School in Tahlequah and Oklahoma Baptist for a semester. She worked in Washington State during World War II for several years in the war effort. Ilena married Charles Krausch and made their home in Grand Prairie, Texas and began a career with Boeing for 30 years until her retirement. She moved home to Stigler in early 1980s. She loved being a faithful member at Bethel Indian Baptist Church. She was loved by all.

Ilena is survived by her daughter, Gail Peterson of Long Island, N.Y.; her son, Carl Krausch and wife, Patricia, of Talihina; four grandchildren, Rick Peterson of New York, Kirk Peterson and wife, Shamequa, of Long Island, N.Y., Craig and wife, Nichole, of Talihina and Cory Krausch of Tulsa; four great-grandchildren, Carl III “Trey,” Cannon, Skye and a great-granddaughter on the way; nieces and nephews, Linda York, Marilyn Espinoza, Gloria Taylor, Byron Perry, Jerry Perry, Ron Perry, Glen Perry and Gerald Perry; numerous great nieces and nephews.

Ilena was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Eve Perry; her husband, Charles Krausch; a grandson, Carl Krausch II; a great-granddaughter, Serena Peterson; five siblings, Ola, Ona, Ina, Isla and Daniel and a nephew, Ted Perry.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2019, in the R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Baker officiating. Pallbearers included Mark Turner, Brady Turner, Carson Turner, Byron Perry, Todd Perry and Josh Hall. Honorary pallbearer was Ron Perry.

Burial followed at Stigler Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
