Herman Jerl Warren

Herman Jerl Warren of McCurtain was born Dec. 27, 1949, in Lequire to Edmon and Chestina (Tyler) Warren. He passed away March 19, 2018, in Tulsa at the age of 68. Jerl married Sandra Bickle on Nov. 1, 1999, in Eureka Springs, Ark.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of the home; two daughters, Julie Henderson and husband, Bill, of Morristown, N.Y., Cherri Warren and Mitchell Jacobs of Quinton; one son, Chad Warren and wife, Shannon, of Poteau; granddaughters, Amanda Hunter and husband, Gary, of Brier Hill, N.Y., Averie Warren and David Harris of Roeland Park, Kan., Bethany Warren of Poteau, Kady Bickle of Stigler, Sami Bickle of Stigler, Brityn Bickle of Muskogee, Aubree Smith of Muskogee; grandson, Chandler Warren of Poteau; twin great-grandsons, Kolten and Caden of Brier Hill, N.Y.; two sisters, Renila Nixon of Sallisaw, Kathy Myers and husband, Billy, of McCurtain; one brother, Wayne Warren and wife, Sue, of McCurtain; two nieces, Katina and Emilee Myers; nephews, Eddie Bowden, Terry Bowden, Jeremy Warren, Justin Warren, Joseph Myers, Brad Bickle, Brent Bickle and Bryce Bickle; two aunts, Wanda York of Holdenville and Jackie Shaffer of Lamont, Calif.; one uncle, Merl McElhaney and wife, Fran, of McCurtain.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edmon Warren and mother and step-father, Chestina and Willard Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
Jerl spent most of his life as a welder. He enjoyed horse and mule riding. He and his wife enjoyed riding in Colorado, New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas. He always liked his dogs and squirrel hunting. He was member of the Keota Lodge and was a 32 degree mason.
Jerl was a member of the Sovereign Nation of the Chickamauga Cherokee Tribe and served as councilman of District 7 in Oklahoma. He loved his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren, attending their activities.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 10 a.m. at McCurtain Assembly of God Church with Brother Kane Riggs officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday March 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Stigler. There will be no graveside services.
Services are entrusted to Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Stigler.
