Harry Reeder

Harry Earl Reeder, 87, of Stigler, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Haskell County Nursing Center.
He was born on March 17, 1929, in Cheraw, Colo., to Harold and Myrtle (Carrington) Reeder.
He was the fourth child of eight children. His family moved to Filer, Idaho in the 1930s, where his family farmed and where he received his education.
When he was 16, his family moved to Albany, Ore. He went to Alaska, logging, and later worked on the pipeline.
In 1962 he came back to Oklahoma and bought a 200 acre ranch.
Later, he retired and moved to Porum and was a rancher until his death.
Harry is survived by his two sisters, Josephine Schalbach of Greenwood, Del., and Elanor Ropp of Roseburg, Ore.; his brother, David Reeder and wife Barbara of Nampa, Idaho; seven stepchildren, Delores Harper of Eustis, Fla., Don Pearson and wife Bonnie of Hoyt, Jim Pearson and wife Pam of Stigler, David Powell of Broken Arrow, Dana Ross and husband Jim Bob of Webbers Falls, Lana Grubbs and husband Bobby of Whitefield, David Clark and wife Sandy of Konawa; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Helen Reeder of Seattle, Wash.; many other relatives, and friends scattered across the United States.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Myrtle Reeder; two wives, Johnni Reeder and Leola (Powell) Reeder; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Reeder, Henry Reeder and wife Marjorie; and Alfred Reeder and wife Pauline; a sister and brother-in-law, Juanita Stutzman and husband Eldon; a son-in-law, James Harper; and a grandson, Danny Pearson.
Services were held Jan. 14 at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tommie Parker officiating. Eulogy was by Charles Don Robertson.
Burial followed at Whitefield Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
Pallbearers were Tom Barnes, Larry Barnes, Timothy Smith, Jason Smith, Rodney Smith and Mack Oldham.
