Gordon Lewis Maxwell was born in Stigler on Sept. 30, 1938, to Jess and Ruby (Gantt) Maxwell. He passed away in Whitefield on Oct. 25, 2020, at the age of 82.

He is survived by his son, Chris Maxwell of Norman; his daughter, Julie Shelton and husband, Gary, of Norman, his stepson, Mark McCoy and wife, Debby, of Stigler; his grandchildren, Grant Shelton of Oklahoma City and Hannah Shelton of Norman; his step-granddaughters, Ashley McCoy of Stigler and Amanda McCoy of Stigler; his stepgreat-grandson, Kacen McCoy of Stigler; and several nieces and nephews.

Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Erniece (Spears) Maxwell; his son, Bobby Maxwell; his stepdaughter, Gina McCoy; and his parents, Jess and Ruby Maxwell.

Gordon Maxwell was best known for owning the Kwik Dine Restaurant, some would say he made the best chef salad known to man! Gordon cherished his relationships with all of his customers and his girls, Coleta and Karen. Gordon was always quick to ask everyone how they were doing or how their family was doing, followed with a big smile.  Little known facts about Gordon were that he was a fire fighter, Mickey Mantle Restaurant manager and worked in the family business, Maxwell Distributing, all in Longview Texas. He was the Rainbo bread man and for a short time and a Wal-Mart cashier, before retiring for good.

Gordon was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan and believed every year was a Super Bowl year and expected nothing less.

Gordon always took care of everyone, but it was unmistakable his devotion to his wife Erniece. He tended to her every need and was often seen around town helping her out of the car and making sure everything was just right. He cherished the time that he got to spend with his grandkids, Ashley, Amanda, Grant and Hannah, and especially becoming a great-grandpa to Kacen. Gordon will be missed by all.
