Gloria Irene Brasher, 86, of Stigler, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at Haskell County Community Hospital of Stigler. She was born May 26, 1933, in Ozark, Ark. to Ruben and Ava (Davis) Bruner.

Irene grew up in Keota, where she graduated. She married Don Earl Honeycutt in Keota and made their home there and raised four children. Later, she married Walter Brasher in the mid 1980s and made their home in Brooken for many years. She moved to Stigler in 2001. She loved to crochet, yard sales, picking up pecans and loved fishing. She and Bernice loved going to McDonald’s getting them something to eat and drink and go over to Wal-Mart’s parking lot and sit there watching the people. Irene adored her family and loved her church family. She was a member of the Stigler Freewill Baptist Church.

Irene is survived by her son, Donald Honeycutt of Spiro; two daughters, Pat Bailey and husband, Eldon, of Keota and Gloria Powers of Cowlington; eight grandchildren and spouses, David and Kristy Honeycutt, Shellie Hulsey, Michelle and Allen Hughey, Daisy Smith, Jamie and Jason Postma, Alicia and Jarrett Hollie, Mindy and Justin Ennis, Ryann and Nick Worsham; 24 great-grandchildren, Josh  and Jason Honeycutt, Bryson, McKayla, Kallie and Wyatt Honeycutt, Joshua and Jaxon Hulsey, Cameron, Connor and Bailey Hughey, Peyton Jones, Preston and Lucy Smith, Keira Contreras, Patricia and Chandle Dimick, Hannah, Jaycee, Jayden and Jason Postma, Lilly and Abigail Johnson, Brynli Worsham and a great-great-granddaughter, Emery Rose Hughey.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Ava Bruner; husband Walter Brasher; a son, Jimmy Wayne Honeycutt; a grandson, Andrew Don Honeycutt; son-in-law, Mike “Bozo” Powers and three sisters, Norma Weece, Geraldine Kemp and Alene Ball.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at Stigler Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor David Bigger officiating.

Burial will follow at the Stigler Cemetery under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
