Geneva ‘Neva’ Cunningham

Geneva “Neva” Cunningham was born in Boise City, Okla. on Oct. 26, 1959, to Charlie Lafayette Brannum and Ida Pearl Ewing. On July 1, 2021, the Good Lord called her home to be with Him and His angels. She passed away in Tamaha, Okla. at the age of 61.

Neva attended school in New Mexico. She graduated high school and did attend some college classes. She worked at OK Foods in Stigler from 2003 until June of 2019, when she retired.  

She loved her family, joking, laughing, and even crying with them at times. She was a very caring and unique person. There was never a dull moment with her around. She loved spending time with family, fishing, boating, camping, shopping, crocheting and doing little projects. She also loved talking to her brothers on the phone and caring for her animals. Neva loved to watch movies, especially Lifetime and Hallmark.

Neva is survived by her lifelong partner of 18 years, Jerry Brannum, of the home; her son, James Cunningham III and wife, Anna, of Burkburnett, Texas; her brothers, George Brannum of Dumas, Texas, Almous Brannum and wife, Ruth, of Muncie, Ind. and Edwin Brannum and wife, Kathy, of Boise City, Okla.; her grandchildren, Skyler and Breeanna Cunningham of Burkburnett, Texas; her stepdaughter, Tanya Prouty and husband, Michael, of Stigler, Okla.; her brother-in-law, Dickie Brannum and wife, Velenda, of Stigler, Okla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and was welcoming her first great-great niece or nephew.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Lafayette and Ida Pearl; her sister, Irene Sandoval and her late husband, James Cunningham II.
