Fred Bibee

Fred Franklin Bibee was born Dec. 14, 1924, in Fishcreek to Gideon and Stella Bibee. He passed away on Jan. 2, 2019, in Muskogee at the age of 94.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Bibee of Whitefield; three sons, Dennis Bibee of Hoyt, Mike Bibee, and wife, Paula, of Hoyt and Allen Bibee and wife, Debbie, of Kelseyville, Calif.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; brothers, Bobby Bibee, and wife, Sharon, of Stigler and Joe Bibee, and wife, Vickie, of Bakersfield, Calif. and sister, Sybil Sanders of Alma, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gideon and Stella (Livesay) Bibee; brothers, John and wife, Edna, Hubert and wife, Pauline and Jack and wife, Geraldine; sisters, Edith and husband, Dick Rutherford, Dolly and husband, Raymond Wren, Ival and husband, Dock Harrell and Betty and husband, Bo Moore.

In 1941, at the age of 17, Fred moved to Richgrove, Calif., where his family had settled and become farm workers during the Great Depression period. He met Norma McPhetridge in Richgrove, and on Oct. 1, 1952, they were married in Delano, Calif. They celebrated 67 years together. They had three children.

Fred spent his life working to raise and support his family and helping others along the way. Fred owned and operated Bibee Trucking in Delano, Calif. for many years. Fred relocated to Hoyt, in 2005, where he spent the remainder of his life. Fred was baptized in 2001 at the age of 76 in Lake Woollomes, east of Delano, Calif. He attended Calvary Pentecostal Church. Fred demonstrated his love and care for his family by working hard all his life.

Graveside services were held at Garland Cemetery on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jason Smith officiating. Inurnment followed under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
