Frank Shores

Franklin Delano Shores was born on May 15, 1944, in Wewoka to Clifford and Annie (Barker) Shores.  Frank passed away Nov. 13, 2016, in Stigler. Frank grew up in Wewoka and graduated from Butner High School in 1962. He began working as a pipeliner at age 19 in South Carolina and worked all around the United States, and continued his career in the oil field until his passing.
He met Glenda Cole in Stigler and they married in New Boston, Ohio on April 26, 1966. They made their home in Stigler where they raised their three children, Scott, Shelby and Shannon.  Frank and Glenda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 26, 2016.
Frank enjoyed many hobbies and activities. Among his favorites were riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, gardening and beekeeping.  His family describes his pie and cobbler making skills as “simply the best.”
Frank was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and was a proud 32nd Degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Shores; his son Scott Shores and wife Diana; daughters, Shelby Satterfield and husband Mike and Shannon Shores; six grandchildren, Todd Shores, Chris Cole, Lane Satterfield, Sarah Stubblefield, Taylor Ward and Zoe Shores; one great-grandchild, Piper Stubblefield; brother Jerry Shores and wife Liz; sisters, Patricia Burns, Betty Bartlett and Katie Shores as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is also survived by his beloved sidekicks, Jane and Pookie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Clifford Shores; sisters, Leta Smith, Mary Swope and Daisy Harper.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17 at Garland Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Murry presenting the message and the Rev. Jeff Berger the Eulogist. Arrangements are under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.  
Pallbearers will be Lane Satterfield, Todd Shores, Chris Cole, Brandon Stubblefield, Jay Don Shores and Mike Satterfield. Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class.
Viewing will be 8 a.m., to 8 p.m., on Wednesday.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Garland Cemetery through First National Bank of Stigler or the Main Street Baptist Church building fund.
