Faye Carey

Faye Lavern Carey of Stigler was born Feb. 5, 1936, in McCurtain to James and Ethel Rigney Johnson and passed away Oct. 20, 2018, in Stigler at the age of 82.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Hoffman of Bokoshe, Barbara Byrd and husband, Ronnie, of Keota and Cheryl Owens and husband, Randy, of Stigler; one son, Rick Belt and wife, Marti, of Cameron; eight grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchilden.

Faye and Denver were married Oct. 10, 1960.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Denver; parents, Jim and Ethel Johnson; sisters, Irene Oliver, Maud Dill, Betty Cambell and Katherine Jones; brothers, Coy Johnson, Earl Johnson and Floyd Johnson and one great-grandson, Tristen Dixon.

Faye was a homemaker that loved her church, grandkids, Dr. Pepper and Little Debbies.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at First Freewill Baptist Church in Stigler with the Rev. Jack Sloan, the Rev. David Bigger and the Rev. Ron Cole officiating. Burial followed at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory in Stigler.

Pallbearers were Jerome Dixon, Johnny Byrd, Shane Dixon, Ricky Belt, Jr., Matt Byrd, Bradly Owens, Kevin Owens and Nikolle Dixon.

Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandsons.
