Evorah Davis

Evorah Grace Davis, 86, of Stigler, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Sparks Hospice in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born March 28, 1932, to Judson and Velvie (Buckner) Brock. She grew up in the Kanima area, then moved to California, where she raised her family. She moved back to Stigler in the mid 60s.

Evorah was a master gardener, raising beautiful flowers She loved music and writing gospel music, singing, playing her guitar and piano. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She loved the Lord and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Evorah is survived by her son, Eddie Groves of Stigler; a daughter-in-law, Viola Groves of Stigler; seven grandchildren, Paul Groves, Honey Coyle and husband, Mike, Harley Groves, Paige Clark, Trinity Clark, Grace Clark, Aliya Clark; six great-grandchildren, Cash, Brody, Presley, Lili, Sonny and Serenity; a sister, Jane Freeburg of Keota; a brother, Joe Brock of Florida and numerous other relatives.

Evorah was preceded in death by her parents, Judson and Velvie Brock; two brothers, Carson and Judson Brock and six sisters, Effie, Lorene, Ethel, Lillie Mae, Versel and Bertha.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tommie Parker officiating.

Burial followed at Garland Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
