Eugene Branam

Eugene Branam of Stigler was born Feb. 4, 1926, in Tuskahoma to Luscious J. and Nora Anderson Branam. He went to be with the Lord surrounded by his children on Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Muskogee at the age of 91.
He is survived by two daughters, La Kresa Cornell and husband, Dale of Quinton, Tresa Byrd and husband, Steve of Lubbock, Texas; one son, Tony Branam and wife, Susan of Lubbock, Texas; three grandchildren, Jonathan Byrd of Lubbock, Texas, Joseph Branam of Blanchard, and Elisabeth Branam of Blanchard; two great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Addison Byrd of Lubbock, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eugene was preceded in death by two wives, Sadie and Bonnie; two brothers, James and Gerald; and parents, Luscious Jacket and Nora Anderson Branam.  
Eugene served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from the Civil Service. He was 2016 Elder of the Year for the Choctaw Nation. He enjoyed Wednesdays at the Choctaw Community Center.  Eugene was also a lifetime member of the DAV.
Eugene loved music and playing multiple instruments. He played and sang in churches from an early age. He blessed many people and was loved by everyone who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
Services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, March 23 at Mallory Chapel, Stigler with the Rev. Bob Ikenberry officiating.
Burial will follow at Quinton City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.  
Viewing will be Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
