Ernest McKee

Ernest McKee of Stigler was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Quinton to Clarence and Hattie Palmer McKee. He passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his home in Stigler, at the age of 86.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; six sons, Charles McKee of Stigler, Joe McKee and wife, Kim, of Rattan, Jeff McKee and wife, Terri, of Checotah, Steven McKee and wife, Tracy of Quinton, David Self of McCurtain and Danny Self of Stigler; grandchildren, Cody, Jody, Caleb, Sydney, Candice, Chelsea, Sage, Amy, Jaycee, Macey, Gracie, Myles, James Edward, James Thomas, Kelby and Kynadi; great-grandchildren, Cadence, Makadyn, Ava, Saebra, Coby and Michael; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hattie McKee; two sisters and three brothers.  
Ernest was a rancher and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. He was also a member of AQHA-World Show Riding Hrs. Breeder, National Old Timers Rodeo Association, Senior Pro Rodeo Association, United States Team Roping Championships, Stigler Round Up Club for many years, and Palomino Quarter Horse Association.
Services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, May 12 at Assembly of God Church, Stigler with the Rev. John Pruett, the Rev. Jeff Berger and Brian Henderson officiating.
Burial will follow at Stigler City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.
Pallbearers will be Charles McKee, Joe McKee, Jeff McKee, Steven McKee, David Self and Danny Self.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Fowler, Fred Williams, Bill McKee, Gary McKee, Jack Foreman, Tommy McKee, Justin Price, Brian Henderson, Larry Godfrey, Pete Hugle, John Hugh Dickson, Richard Dickson, Jim Bob Dickson, Jim Harrell, Tracy Smith, Jim Bob Cross, Kevin Fenton, Ted Falconer, Mike Scantlen, David Morgan, Carroll Huggins, David McSpadden, Lonnie Davis, Ray Cloud and Pat Clement.
Viewing will be 8 a.m., to 8 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday with family visitation Thursday from 5 p.m., to 8 p.m., at Loyd Munn Center next door to the funeral home.
