E.J. Wilson

E.J. Wilson, 78, of Stigler, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital. He was born on Feb. 10, 1938, on Beaver Mountain to William and Angie (Smith) Wilson.
He grew up at Beaver Mountain where he was educated.
He moved to California to work and met Frances North and they were married July 1, 1959.
E.J. began a career as a mechanic. They moved home to Enterprise in 1966. He operated Vickers Service Station until 1974. They moved back to Beaver Mountain in 1974 and he began a career as a rancher, raising cattle and custom hay baling. He was an avid outdoorsman who excelled in hunting and fishing. He loved traveling to Alaska and the National Parks in the West as well as the Alamo. E.J. was devoted to his family and was a Godly man.
E.J. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances Wilson of the home; his son, James Wilson and wife Carol of Seattle, Wash.; his daughter, Janette Leon and husband Albert of Kinta; seven grandchildren, Crystal Ervin and husband Keith, Tony Lowery and wife Ashley, Sherita Satterfield and husband Weston, Samantha Brinson and husband Levi, Dalton Wilson and wife Holly, Kali Wilson and Tori Wilson; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Albert Wilson and wife Darlene of Mannford, Kenneth Wilson and wife Ruth of Moore, and Wesley Wilson and wife Roberta of Pharoah; sister, Billie Armstrong of Skedee; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
E.J. was preceded in death by his parents, William and Angie Wilson; two sisters, Edna Mae Self and Fannie Wilson.
Services were held Jan. 20 at Sandridge United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. George Mantooth officiating.
Eulogy was by the Rev. Brian Bryant. Burial followed at Mountain Home Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral home of Stigler.
Pallbearers were Dalton Wilson, Randy Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Wes Wilson Jr., Tony Lowery and James Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Workman and Steve Utterback.
