Eddie Harrison Barker, 82, of Eufaula passed away March 29, 2019. He was born on Tucker Knob, a native Choctaw, on April 16, 1936, to William and Mary Barker. He married Juanita Thorp on April 4, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo. He served in the Navy from 1954 to 1957, and became a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was an ironworker until his retirement in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita and their children, Cassie and husband, Bill Miller, Eddy and wife, Michelle Barker, and Melinda Barker; four grandchildren, Jeremy Barker, Tyler Barker, Courtney Barker and Amanda Landis; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Barker and Joshua Limberg; one brother, Kenneth and wife, Sallie Barker, and two sisters, Marie and husband, Raymond Hammontree, and Helen and husband, Howard Smith.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary; three brothers, Jack, Wayne and Junior; two sisters, Billie Murdock and Jimmie Spicer and his grandson, Bradley Barker.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Quinton Cemetery. Luncheon will follow at 1 p.m. at the Choctaw Community Center in Crowder. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to DAV Pittsburg County Chapter #20, 125 S Main St, Krebs, OK 74554.
