Douglas Mooring

Douglas Mooring was born on July 5, 1943 to Andrew and Opal (Burgan) Mooring.  He passed away on Aug. 3, 2020 in Keota at the age of 77.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phillis, of the home; two sons, Douglas Dwayne Mooring and wife, Kathy, of Roland and Christopher Waldrop of Keota; his sisters, Corina Davis of Hanna and Shirley Brown and significant other, Robert Maddox, of Sun City, Ariz.; his brother, Andrew Jackson Mooring, Jr. and wife, Sherri, of Prague; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Opal Mooring; one daughter, Patricia Myers; two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7 at Unity Baptist Church in Keota with the Rev. Scott Welch and the Rev. Charles Carry officiating.  

Pallbearers included Randall Davis, Ty Davis, Lester Burgess, Marcus Burgess, James Burgess and Monty Mooring.

Honorary pallbearers were Odie Branch and Josh Long.
