Delphia Carroll

Delphia Ray Carroll, 65, of Lequire, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Cornerstone Hospital.
He was born Aug. 18, 1951, in Houston to John and Dorothy Carroll.
He grew up in Houston, before moving to Hughes Springs, Texas in 1969, where he graduated high school.
He will always be remembered as loving to go to the mountains, riding his ATV, adoring his grandchildren, shooting weapons, setting off fireworks,  and cooking outside on the grill and smoker for family gatherings.  
Delphia is survived by his wife, Vickie Carroll of the home; his daughter, Nikki Austell of Daingerfield, Texas;  his two stepsons, Carl Patterson and wife Laura of Lequire, Travis Patterson and wife Jennifer of Kinta;  his five grandchildren, Tristan Patterson, Trenton Patterson, Addison Patterson, Mickey Edwards, Kendra Edwards; his two great-grandchildren, Mason Edwards, Wyatt Powell; his brother, Roger Carroll of Houston; his two sisters, Denny Young of East Bernard, Texas, Pam Downs of Avenger, Texas; his three aunts, Eva Carroll of Garrison, Texas, Martha Garrett of Nacogdoches, Texas, Opaline Barnhart of Nacogdoches, Texas; his 10 nieces and nephews, Jackie Miller and husband John, Tony Carroll and wife Monica, Candace Carroll and Nelwyn Slocum, Mandy Usie and husband Nick, Rebekah Garvel and husband Darrel, Jeremy Young and wife Tiffany, Christopher Young and wife Hollie, Heather Caperton and husband Jeff, Marc Downs, Kyle Downs and wife Victoria; his 15 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Carroll; his grandson, Chase Patterson; his sister, Mary Jo.
Graveside services were held Nov. 14 at Sans Bois Cemetery with Pastor Denver Bowen officiating. Burial followed under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.  
Pallbearers were Carl Patterson, Travis Patterson, Kevin Martin and Tyson Greenmeyer.
