Dearl Gene Blaylock, 53, of Longtown, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born on April 1, 1967, to Dearl Blaylock and Lois (Bowen Blaylock) Carry.

Dearl Gene had a huge heart and was loved by all who knew him. He was always more concerned with the well-being of his family and friends over himself. Dearl Gene enjoyed working and worked hard at every job he held. He started working in the oil fields as a young adult and worked his way to the top, eventually owning his own consulting company, Blaylock’s Consulting LLC, from 2007 to present. Throughout his many years spent working, Dearl Gene made many treasured lifetime friends.

Dearl Gene was an avid lover of animals, but he especially loved horses and rodeos. He spent his younger years riding his Welsh Pony, Cherokee, from sun up to sun down and carried that passion throughout his life.

Dearl Gene had a passion for fishing and hunting with family and friends; vehicles of any kind, particularly older hot rods; all things Native American; and cruising around in his Jeep. He loved getting together with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of the home; his parents, Lois Carry of the home, Dearl Blaylock of Quinton, his children, Jeremy Owens of Beggs, Megan Sosa and husband, Jorge, of Whitefield, Bradley Walton and wife, Chelsea, of McCurtain, Rayna Holt of Hartshorne, Hayden Blaylock of Russellville, Ark. and Billie Ray Niven of Poteau; 11 grandchildren, Acetin Rowell, Alivia and Halee Hall and Jaylee Sosa, Haileigh, Taytum and Teagan Mills, Ireland and Raelyn Owens, Brinn Twaddle, and Riley Walton; his siblings, Shelly Satterfield and husband, Kerry, of Mulberry, Ark., April Bruner of Keota, Darin Blaylock of Quinton, Claylon and Christina Carry of Keota and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Dearl Gene was preceded in death by his four siblings, Curtis “Stoney” Carry, Donna Carey, Rodney Carey and Samantha Carry; other father, Albert “Son” Carry; other mother, Jennette Blaylock; grandparents, Jack and Thelma Bowen and Dave and Edith Blaylock; brother-in-law, Luke Bruner; son, Lucas Niven; daughter-in-law, Sarah Owens; and mother-in-law, Rosa Coyle.

A memorial Celebration of Life for Dearl Gene will be held at a later date. Dearl Gene’s wishes were for his ashes to be spread over the land of his childhood home.
