David Hess

David Earl Hess, 57 of Stigler, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Sparks Health System in Ft. Smith.
He was born July 6, 1959, in Ft. Smith, Ark., to Earl and Lou (Honeycutt) Hess.
David grew up in Stigler where he graduated from Stigler High School. He was a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, coaching little league baseball, playing coed softball, and was a member of Cass Freewill Baptist Church.
David is survived by his mother, Lou Hess of Stigler; his three sons, Jared Hess, Bobby Hess and Amanda Birckel, Cade Hess and wife Jami; his daughter, Amanda Hess and Russell Parsons of Stigler; 11 grandchildren, Kendell, Cody, K.J., Kadence, Justin, Rusty, Kaden, Justah, Savannah, Zaden; his brother, Lyle Hess of Stigler; two half-brothers, Mark Hess of Alma, Ark., Roy Wayne Hess of Tulsa; his two half-sisters, Rhonda Woolsey of Pocola, Pam Turner Hess of Tulsa; his companion, Sherry Amos.
David was preceded in death by his father, Earl Hess.
Graveside services were held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Sans Bois Cemetery with the Rev. Tommie Parker officiating. Burial  followed immediately under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral home of Stigler.
Pallbearers were David Treadway, Russell Parsons, Cade Hess, Wayne Hess, Bobby Hess and Brian Mayhall. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Garland, Wayne Honeycutt, Michael Maxwell and Dusty Powell.
