David ‘Don’ Hardesty

David (Don) Wayne Hardesty passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020. He was born on Aug. 2, 1943, to Madeen and Jack Hardesty, Sr. in El Dorado, Ark. 

He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Serio, on Jan. 2, 1964 in Baton Rouge, La.

He bravely served our country as a private in the Army. He was a professional truck driver by trade and a rancher by heart. He was the most skilled cowboy to ever grace the back of a horse. He loved his family fiercely and was most content when they were all together. 

One of his favorite hobbies was fishing. He could always be found on the lake or the dock at Duchess Creek Marina. The lake was his happy place, where he felt at peace. He loved the outdoors. He was a talented builder and enjoyed working with his hands. He always had the prettiest flowers and manicured lawn at Duchess Creek Marina. He was a devoted and hard working man who always tried his best to make sure his family was well taken care of. He was loved by all that knew him. 

He was reunited in Heaven with his parents; his grandparents, Claude and Inez Poole; brothers, Bill Hardesty and Jack Hardesty, Jr. and sister Judy Hardesty. 

He is survived by two brothers and two sisters; his loving wife, Patricia Hardesty; their children, Michele Davis, Patricia George and her husband, Wayne, and Dawn Ehler and her husband, Jim; his grandchildren, Julie Middleton, Amanda Tisdale and her husband, Justin, Lacie Mulanax and her husband, Brooks, Luke Helton and his wife, Missy, and Colt Ehler and his wife,Chloe; his great-grandchildren Alyssa, Zachary, Makenzie Kadience, Deklyn, Charlee and Masic: last but definitely not least, his beloved Chihuahua, Chico. 

He was an incredible man who was well loved and will be greatly missed. 

Memorial services in his honor will be held May 30, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Duchess Creek Marina.
