Connie Seyler

Connie S. Seyler, 56, of Keota, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at the Haskell County Nursing Center in Stigler. She was born April 16, 1962, in McCurtain to Henry and Irea (Lovell) Sweeten. She grew up in McCurtain, where she received her education. She was 16 years old when she married Roy Wayne Seyler on Aug. 11, 1978, and they moved to Keota, where they raised their family.

Connie loved her family and spending time with her grandbabies, who she adored. She loved to cook and make pies. Her signature was butterscotch delight and Oreo delight pies that she made for the holidays. She had gotten a camcorder and loved to video the family at holidays and family get-togethers.

Connie is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Newton and husband, Tony, of Eufaula and Teresa Broyles and husband, Thomas, of Eufaula; her five grandchildren, Lacy, Cory, Rodney, Conner and Skyler; four sisters, Patricia Stephens of Whitefield, Irene Robinson and husband, Jimmy, of Porum, Linda Keith and husband, Joe, of Enterprise and Ann Lindsey and husband, Dean, of Porum; and her brother Mack Sweeten and wife, Jeannie, of Keota.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Irea Sweeten; her husband, Roy Wayne Seyler; a daughter, Christy Seyler; three brothers; three sisters; and a brother-in-law, Jess Stephens.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, in Old Cache Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Welch officiating. Pallbearers include Mikey Sweeten, Jacob Seyler, Shane Robinson and Shawn Robinson.

Burial will follow immediately under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
