Clifford ‘Butch’ Clyma

Services for Clifford Lee “Butch” Clyma were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Church of Christ in Catoosa. Friends visited at the funeral home on Monday, March 12 from 1 to 8 p.m. with family receiving visitors from 6 to 8 p.m.
Clyma, 78, a resident of Verdigris left his earthly home for heaven surrounded by his family on March 6, 2018.
He was born Jan. 30, 1940, in Keota. He was the oldest son of Frank and Juanita Clyma. Clifford attended school at the Rockford Grade School, a small one room school. He then attended Keota Public School in the third grade, until he graduated high school in 1958, where he played both football and baseball.
Clifford met Faye Jane Clark at the Rockford Free Will Baptist Church and on Aug. 30, 1960, they were married, and were later blessed with two children to complete their family. After living in Tulsa and Big Cabin, they later made their home in Verdigris.
Clifford attended classes at the University of Tulsa and began working at Flint Steel Company as a steel fabricator, where he worked until starting his own company in 1983, Tower Components, Inc., building communication towers.
In his spare time, he loved raising cattle, fishing, working in his vegetable garden and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Carry-Clyma of Keota; his son, Kevin Clyma and his wife, Donna, of Verdigris; his daughter, Laura Terneus and husband, Tommy, of Verdigris; grandchildren, Kevin Terneus, Christopher Terneus, Kristina, Terneus, Kaleb Clyma and Jordan Clyma, of Verdigris; two brothers, Larry Clyma and his wife, Gloria, of Tamaha, Randy Clyma and his wife, Jamie, of Claremore; three sisters, June Bailes of Stigler, JoAnne Smith and her husband, Larry, of Buna, Texas and Judy Parker and her husband, Mike, of Spiro; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Faye Jane Clyma; and grandson, Lucas Clyma.
