Christene Edwards

Christene Edwards of Stigler was born Feb. 24, 1937, in Keota to John and Myrtus (McGuire) Ballard and passed away June 28, 2017 in Stigler at the age of 80.
She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Owen and husband, Robert of Stigler; two sons, Roger Edwards and wife, Tammy of Tamaha, and Kent Edwards and wife, Kellie of Muskogee; 11 grandchildren, Jeff Owen and wife, Heather, Melissa Potts and husband, John, Devan Edwards and wife, Becky, Wesley Edwards and wife, Traci, Christy Allen, Mickey Edwards, Kendra Edwards, and Nick Edwards, Laney Edwards, Terry Owen and wife, Courtney, Wesley Owen, Kendell Kates, and Jamie Robinson and husband, Dub; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jimmy Mackey of Whitefield and Donna Mosing of Stigler; three brothers, Manuel Ballard and wife, Reta of Stigler, Donnie Ballard of Whitefield, and Lonnie Ballard and wife, Carolyn of Eufaula; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Christene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vinice “Pete” Edwards; and one brother; Lemuel Ballard.
Services were held June 30 at Mallory Chapel with Bro. Tommie Parker officiating. Interment followed at Stigler City Cemetery. Arrangements had been entrusted to the care and direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
 Pallbearers were Jeff Owen, Wes Owen, Terry Owen, Mark Turner, Ty Oldham and John Potts. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Edwards, Mickey Edwards, Scott Gregory, Zack Satterfield, Tommy Edwards, Nick Edwards, Tracey Rust, Blaz Durfey, Terry Proe, David Reed, Stuart Turner, Greg Riddle, Bobbie Faries and Rodney Bibee.
