Carl Ferrell

Carl W. Ferrell 89, of Whitefield, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw. He was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Quinton to Clemment and Vena (Beard) Ferrell. He grew up in Quinton and Oklahoma City. 

Carl served his country in the Army for three years. He married Lillian Phillips in Oct. 20, 1952, and they made their home at Stigler. He began a career of being a cross country truck driver that spanned 62 years. Carl loved singing and being a tinkerer. He was a member of the Apostolic Church.

Carl is survived by his two sons, Carl Ferrell and wife, Cynthia, of Madill and Boyd Ferrell of Whitefield; seven daughters, Elaine Tatro and husband, Joseph, of Hartford, Ark., Ellen Wakefield of Nardin, Mary Ferrell of Nardin, Peggy Baker and husband, Keith, of Braman, Debra Marris and Bobby Atchley of Okemah, Joy Westfall of Stigler and Dorothy Cantrell and husband, Cleon, of Kinta; 37 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Clemmet and Vena Ferrell; his wife, Lillian Ferrell and two sisters, Oleta Cheek and Merlie Ward.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Mountain Home Cemetery with the Rev. Connie and Johnny Thornton. Pallbearers includes Matthew Blackwood, Erick Westfall, Kevin Stout, Jeremiah Marris, Jay Hawkins, Keith Taylor, Tristion Marris and Trevor Stout. 

Burial followed immediately under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home.
