Billy Ray Thompson

Billy Ray Thompson, of Stigler was born Sept. 12, 1929, in Lindsay to E.H. and Iva Barnes Thompson.
He passed away Sept. 27, 2016, in Muskogee at the age of 87.
He is survived by wife, Margie of the home; one daughter, Dianne Thompson Hardcastle and husband Keith of League City, Texas; one son, Michael Thompson of Stigler; grandchildren, Jason Hardcastle and wife Hayley of Galveston, Texas, Justin Thompson of Austin, Texas, Paige Hardcastle of League City, Texas, Jillian Thompson of Gladewater, Texas and Jessalin Thompson of Gladewater, Texas; great-granddaughter, Hayden Grace Hardcastle of Galveston, Texas.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.  
He served in the Marine Corp during WWII. He retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad and became a full-time rancher.  Billy was a member of the Stigler Church of Christ.
Services were held Oct. 1 at Mallory Chapel in Stigler with Chris Wilson officiating.
Burial followed at Stigler City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.
Pallbearers were Jason Hardcastle, Justin Thompson, Fred Fenton, Wendell Fenton, Chris Fenton and Keith Hardcastle.
Honorary pallbearers were Neil Yost, Kenneth Brown, JD Snow, Sam Stubblefield and Mark Fenton.
