Billy Don Williams

Billy Don Williams was born in Stigler, on Dec.19, 1936, to Grady and Lois (Mabray) Williams. He passed away in Oklahoma City, on Nov. 19, 2019, at the age of 82.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Williams, of the home; three daughters, Marcie Arnold and husband, Ryan, of Crowder, Patricia Crocker and husband, John Jr., of Arcadia and Myra Smith and husband, Martin, of St. Peters, Mo.; two sons, Leslie Williams and wife, Louise, of Edmond and Randall McGuire of Ada; three brothers, Huston Bibb and wife, Betty, of Stigler, David Williams and wife, Regina, of Kingman, Ariz. and Bob Williams and wife, Valarie, of Ajo, Ariz.; one sister, Norma Jean Robinson and husband, William Johnson, of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, Grady Williams; his mother, Lois Bibb; his stepfather, Richard Bibb; his stepmother, Sybil Williams; one sister, Patty Clarkson; and one great-granddaughter, Tegan Smith.

Billy attended Kinta High School. He was an Airman Third Class in the  Air Force from 1954 to 1958. Billy was an Oklahoma City firefighter from 1959 to 1966, until early retirement due to an injury in 1966. He graduated from Eastern Oklahoma State College in 1971. In 1973, he became the first parole board member. He retired in 1999 and the Southeastern Oklahoma Region for the State Pardon and Parole was renamed, “The Bill Williams District.” 

Billy was an avid deer hunter and outdoors man.  He loved sharing hunting stories and helping out at James Collins Wildlife Management during youth hunts. 

He loved spending time with his grandkids and traveling and hunting with his wife, Linda.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at Mallory Chapel in Stigler with Julie Collins officiating.

 Interment followed at Sans Bois Cemetery in Kinta, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler. 

Viewing was from  noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler.

Pallbearers were Daniel Arnold, David Arnold, Frank Hernandez, Bryan Hollingshead, David Lemons and Myron Lynch. 

Military Honors were conducted by Stigler VFW Post #4446
