Bill Walton, 67, of Kinta, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at Haskell County Community Hospital in Stigler. He was born June 23, 1952, at New Jerusalem to Lester and Sylvia (McSperritt) Walton. He was raised in Stigler. 

Bill married Alice Pugh on Sept. 3, 1971, at Lafayette Baptist Church. He began a career as a truck driver that spanned many years until his retirement. He enjoyed tinkering outside, talking and wheeling and dealing. He enjoyed spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Bill is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 47 years, Alice Walton, of the home; his two daughters, Melissa Laffoon and husband, Jason, of Stigler and Melinda Colbert and husband, Nathen, of Poteau; seven grandchildren, Tristine and Sadie Laffoon, Kelsey and Cordell Ramsey, Averie, Brea and Caden Colbert; a brother, T.W. Walton and wife, Nellie, of Stigler; two brothers-in-law, Tom Pugh and wife, Martha, of Cullman, Ala. and J.W. Holt of Stigler; a sister-in-law, Shirley Apple and husband, Mike, of Stigler; mother-in-law, Annalou Pugh of Sans Bois and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Sylvia Walton; a sister, Wendy Holt, and father-in-law, John Pugh.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019, at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jack Sloan officiating. Pallbearers included Bill Gist, Ed Gist, Kenny Kasiner, Billy Gilham, Eddie Gilham and James Ranes.

Burial followed at Sans Bois Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
