Beverly Baker

The funeral for Beverly Lorene Baker, 73, will be at 9 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, at Heaven Bound Freewill Baptist Church in Enterprise with the Rev. Larry Messer officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.

Beverly was born on July 20, 1945, in Kansas City, Miss. to Ralph Ray and Thelma Elizabeth Alexander Hodgett. She passed away on Feb. 13, 2019, at her home in Brooken Cove. In 1981, she married the love of her life, Billy Doyle Baker. They built and made their home at Brooken Cove in 1984. She was a loyal servant to God and a member of Heaven Bound Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a long time Sunday school teacher. Beverly was a member of the Rust to Riches car club. Beverly was a devout wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed cooking, planting, antiques and serving her Lord. She was a true matriarch and lived each day loving her children and family. Beverly was the epitome of strength, love and goodness. Her bestowment of inspiration and dedication to her family and God will forever be missed.

Survivors include sons, James Grubbs and wife, Judy, of Greenfield and Bobby Grubbs and wife, Lana, of Whitefield; daughters, Robbie Grubbs-Blagg and husband, Mark Nossaman, of Midwest City and Linda Maddux of Canon City, Colo.; sisters, Patty Payne of Arkansas and Jesse Dallard of Texas; special sister, Nancy Hodgett of Toadsuck, Miss.; 10 grandchildren, Sara Price and husband, Marshall, of Pueblo, Colo., Ryan Price and wife, Aubrey, of San Diego, Calif., Crystal Grubbs of Oklahoma City, David Grubbs and wife, Kendra, of Watonga, Kelly Allan of De Beque, Colo., Kimberly Tinsley and husband, Justin, of Edmond, Dixie Herskind and husband, Jason, of Broken Arrow, Ashley Blagg of Oklahoma City, Beverly Benson of McAlester and Trevor Grubbs-Cox of Skagway, Alaska; 16 great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Joshua, Kelsey, Casi, Madison, Harley, Deacon, Brody, Ethan, Brennan, Zoe, Connell, Collin, Pyhper, Bryce and Zeke and three great-great-grandchildren, Ryder, Myles and Bridger. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Baker; her parents, Ralph and Thelma Hodgett; brothers, Dale and Michael Hodgett and sisters, Mary Ann and Carolyn Sue Hodgett.
