Betty King

Betty Fern King, 82, of Stigler, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Baptist Hospice, Fort Smith, Ark. Betty grew up in Spiro, where she was educated. She married Howard King and they made their home in Stigler. She dedicated her life to raising her children, loved going to church and loved watching the grandchildren play ball.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Cindy King of Stigler and Linda Garrett and husband, Ed, of Sand Springs; her son, Ron King and wife, Terri, of Blanchard; 13 grandchildren, Laura, Kelly, Shonda, Aubrey, Travis, Edward, Angie, Tony, Casey, Rita, Mary, Chris and Gene and 16 great-grandchildren, Marley, Daley, Peyton, Gunner, Silas, Jonah, Elijah, Kaleb, Brody, Sofie, Cecilia, Jaxon, Haven, Brayden, Neveah and Julie.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Johnny Reid; her husband, Howard King; six sisters, Faye, Mary, Ruby, Veda, Jean and Juanita and two brothers, Junior and Charles.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday morning, June 1, 2019, at Faith Community Church in Whitefield with the Rev. Bill and the Rev. Mary Fitzer officiating.

Pallbearers included Dathan Martin, Kaleb Brown, Kyle Weaver, Brandon Hathcock, Chad Goodman and Aaron Goodman.

Burial followed at Stigler Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
