Almetta Adams

Almetta Ivaleen Adams of Star was born Aug. 8, 1934, in Saylor Bottoms (Keota) to Willie and Agnes Hayes Patterson and passed away Sept. 22, 2018, in Keota at the age of 84.

At the age of sweet 16, she married the love of her life, Bill Adams. She spent her life being the perfect help mate. For nearly 68 years, they set an example of how marriage is supposed to be.

Ivy is survived by her husband and best friend, Bill, of the home; daughter, Beverly Smith and husband, Jerry, of Star; son, Kenny Adams and wife, Becky, of Star; grandsons, Jason Smith and wife, Marilyn, of Keota, Kendall Adams and wife, Amy, of Star and Trevor Adams and wife, Emily, of Star; grandaughters, Bridget Dill and husband, Ryan, of Star and Jerika Seagraves and husband, William, of Webb City, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Brystal and Bryxton Seagraves; Dee Dra, Shania and Creed Smith; Jagger, Annika and Blyss Dill and Kylar, Kase and Kynli Adams; great-great-grandaughter, Zaylee Darneal; one sister, Imogene Winklepleck and husband, J.B., of Stigler; one brother, Billy Patterson and wife, Chris, of Bakersfield, Calif; two sisters-in-law, Rita Adams of Star and Shirley Easley of Redding, Calif.; special friends, Elizabeth Wann and Angela Lessley and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ivy was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Agnes Patterson; one grandaughter, Krystal Haven Smith; one brother, Damon Patterson and six sisters, Katherene Pierce, Shirlene Clifton, Korene Salada, Maxine Palacios, Nadine Graham and Earlene Vescovi.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at Star Baptist Church with Bro. William Seagraves, the Rev. Rick McClaskey and the Rev. Scott Welch officiating. Burial followed in Keota City Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory in Stigler.
